Member Guidelines

Mission Statement:

The mission of CEA is to promote education and information exchange for executives who lead businesses in the South Florida construction and development industry. Membership consists of the leaders who direct the people within their organizations with empowerment to implement change that affects the direction of the organization and the bottom line. Typically, these leaders are owners or members of the executive team.

Membership Requirements for Pimary and Secondary Members:

All CEA members are required to meet the membership guidelines as follows:
1. The primary member shall attend nine out of the twelve monthly meetings.
2. A designated representative may attend two out of the nine meetings.
3. The secondary member may participate in all monthly meetings. His/Her attendance is not mandatory.
4. All member are expected to RSVP by Wednesday by 5:00 PM prior to the meeting if they are undable to attend.

Active participation includes the following:
1. Participation in group discussion and discourse relevant to the presentation being given.
2. Educating each member of the group about your company/services and how he/she can help with your success.
3. Offering suggestions to help other members on issues relating to the construction industry.
4. Promoting the other members to the best of your ability and comfort level with them, their businesses and/or services.
5. Each member must suggest two topics for presentation or discussion at the monthly meetings. The suggestion should be in detail and on general subjects.

Visitor Policy:

Guest:

  • is allowed to attend from Member Company to hear a specific speaker (not necessarily eligible for membership).
  • must RSVP by Wednesday prior to the meeting by 5:00 PM.

One Time Visitor:

  • is someone invited from the outside (i.e.: Government official)
  • must be approved by Officers/Board or Membership Committee.
  • must RSVP by Wednesday prior to the meeting by 5:00 PM.

Potential Member:

  • is someone invited by another member to attend a meeting that fulfills the definition of membership as posted.
  • must be approved by Officers/Board or Membership Committee.
  • must RSVP by Wednesday prior to the meeting by 5:00 PM.
  • must submit an application for membership after one visit.
